So after countless all nighters and 10+ hour days sitting in front of a computer trying to figure out after effects I have finished my final project. I wouldn't completely call it it finished as I'm still not completely happy with the result, but you are always your toughest critic.
Seeing I'm going into film next year I decided not to make a film this year and get more experience in after effects by doing a motion comic. I did sit in on all the film classes though and helped out on my classmates films as much as I could.
I wanted to have a personal connection with my project and not lose the drive to finish it, so by getting my brother and his friends to write a rap about my hometown and my roommate to do all the graphic design I had plenty of reasons to keep the project running.
It was both a stressful and enjoyable experience, I learned a lot of valuable lessons from the project. Even though I may not be completely happy with the final result it's a huge improvement from the starting of the year.
I will always push as many limits as I can, even if it's something as small as putting sexual references and male genitals in a final project that most people wouldn't dare to, for fear their project might not be shown at graduation. It might seem stupid or silly to some people but ap music has always been for the younger generation, so I tried to make the video appealing to that audience. At the same time the rap song is not meant to be taken seriously, so I decided to go that direction with the video as well.
